Sangam is a Regd. social cultural organisation founded in 1992,
doing social and charity activities for the uplift of downtrodden
community in and around Ahmedabad. The sangam has been giving free
text books, note books, school uniforms to students of seven
Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation run schools and arranging for free
tuition, organizing students skill development programmes, and
computer training to poor students for the last nine years with the
help of local well wishers in and around Ahmedabad. To step up its
activities more effectively, the sangam has purchased an office
building in Deep bhoomi complex near ONGC ,Chandkheda and taken
possession of the same in January 2001.
When the quake hit the state, the sangam has risen to the occasion
to wipe out the tears of their Gujarat brethren by co-ordinating
with Tamil nadu based non-governmental organizations (NGOs)in
rendering relief operation in the worst-hit areas of the state. The
sangam has collected relief materials worth of lakhs of rupees and
distributed to the victims in Gandhidham and Anjar areas.
The Sangam is celebrating its anniversary every year and bringing
out souvenir to commemorate the function. It costs lakhs of rupees
towards distribution of free school note books, uniforms,
distribution of free bus passes for the children who could not
afford even to purchase bus ticket.. The Sangam is planning to
extend the charity activity by covering up the people who come under
the below poverty line by offering clothing, education, food to the
possible extent. the sangam has conducted free eye medical camp in
Ahmedabad and carried out cataract operations for the deserving poor
people of all community. (The majority being tamils). It has plans
for the other medical camps like free blood donations, free dental
camps etc.. To meet the above noble cause, we earnestly request you
to contribute as much as possible. It is also to mention that the
Government corporations like GMDC, BPCL, ONGC,AMC are our proud
patrons in volunteering their help towards above noble cause.
(All the donations for the above noble cause are exempted from in
come tax under 80-G)
